We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, place an order, or contact us. This includes: your name, email address, and any information you provide about your birds (bird name, test type).

We do not collect or store payment information such as bank account numbers or credit card details. Payments are made directly via Interac e-Transfer or cheque.

We automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to maintain and improve our website.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: process and fulfil your test orders; deliver your results to your account and via email; communicate with you about your orders and account; respond to your inquiries and support requests; and improve our website and services.

We do not use your personal information for advertising or marketing purposes beyond transactional communications directly related to your orders.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

3. Biological Samples & Genetic Data

Blood samples submitted to our lab are used solely for the purpose of performing the DNA test(s) you ordered. Samples are not stored beyond the testing period and are disposed of securely after analysis.

Genetic data derived from your samples is used only to generate your test results. We do not share, sell, or use avian genetic data for research, breeding databases, or any purpose other than fulfilling your specific order.

Test results and certificates are stored securely in your account and are accessible only to you (the account holder) and authorized lab personnel.

4. Information Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following limited circumstances: (a) with service providers who assist us in operating our website and delivering our services, subject to confidentiality obligations; (b) when required by law, court order, or governmental authority; or (c) to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sneak Peep Avian DNA Lab, our customers, or others.

Any third-party service providers we engage are contractually required to protect your information and may only use it for the specific purpose for which it was shared.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and order history for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services and comply with our legal obligations.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your personal information will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Physical samples are disposed of securely within 30 days of test completion.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Your account is protected by a password that you create and control.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses session cookies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the site, including maintaining your login session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate information, and request deletion of your account and data.
